Pearl Onion in White Sauce



Ingredients:

  • pearl onion 1/4 pound

  • milk (of any kind)

  • consomme (or any soup stock)

  • salt & pepper

  • flour (or potato starch, mix with a small amount of water in advance) 1/2 tbsp

  • bread crumb, cheese and parsley flake (optional)


Directions:

  1. Cut the edge of the root

  2. Boil water and add peal onions with skin on for a few minutes

  3. Drain and put the pearl onions in cold water

  4. Remove the skin by pushing/sliding the other end

  5. In a pan, boil small amount of water, add consomme (or soup stock) and simmer onions for a few minutes

  6. Add milk and flour (pre-mixed with water),

  7. Transfer into an oven proof dish, sprinkle with bread crumb and cheese and broil the top

  8. Add parsley flakes
