Kabocha Dango

Kabocha shaped dango with kabocha



Ingredients

  • Kabocha 120g

  • Dango flour 150g

  • Sugar (optional, depending on the sweetness of kabocha)

  • Lukewarm water

  • Nut (pumpkin seed, etc)

  • Syrup of your choice (honey, maple syrup, molasses, etc..)


Directions

  1. Cook (boil) kabocha and mash and add sugar (optional)

  2. Mix mashed kabocha and dango flour, and add the lukewarm water slowly till it reaches the tenderness of the ear robe

  3. Shape into flat ball and make a dent in the center

  4. Make lines on the surface with a toothpick to create kabocha patterns

  5. Boil water and cook for a few minutes until the ball comes up and floats

  6. Take it out, soak in cold water and drain

  7. Add a nut

  8. Add syrup of your choice (honey, maple syrup, molasses, etc.)
