Yomogi Dango

Ingredients

  • shiratamako powder

  • tofu

  • yomogi herb (dry or fresh) - dry products "Kansou Yomogi" are purchased at grocery store or online. Choose no pesticides/made in Japan. Or use homemade dry yomogi using fresh one.

  • sweet bean paste or soy bean powder (optional)


Directions

  1. Soak dry yomogi in water and squeeze (or boil fresh yomogi and mash)

  2. Smash a tofu and mix with shiratamako powder using hands, adjusting the amount of tofu until the mixture reaches the tenderness of earlobe

  3. Mix 1 and 2 and make into small rounds

  4. Boil water and put the rounds, and wait until they float up

  5. Take them out into the colander and let cool

  6. Use them as food or dessert. For dessert, Add bean paste, any syrup of your choice, or soy powder with some sugar as desired.
