Fried Tougan

Winter Melon

Grown at Legacy Farm, Virginia


Directions:

  • Remove the skin and seeds.

  • Cut/slice winter melon (tougan) , dip in mixture of flour and water, and sautee in plenty of oil (or deep fry).

  • Tried with the fiber around the seed.

  • Serve with salt. Crunchy outside, soft and juicy inside!


Note:

  • Once you cut Tougan = Winter Melon, it will go bad very quickly. If you don't cut, you can preserve during the entire winter.

  • Cut into cubes and freeze. Ready to use in soup.
