Fried Tougan
Winter Melon
Grown at Legacy Farm, Virginia
Directions:
Remove the skin and seeds.
Cut/slice winter melon (tougan) , dip in mixture of flour and water, and sautee in plenty of oil (or deep fry).
Tried with the fiber around the seed.
Serve with salt. Crunchy outside, soft and juicy inside!
Note:
Once you cut Tougan = Winter Melon, it will go bad very quickly. If you don't cut, you can preserve during the entire winter.
Cut into cubes and freeze. Ready to use in soup.
