Cabbage Salad with Takuan



Ingredients

  • Cabbage

  • Takuan pickles *

  • Cucumber (optional)

  • Shio Kombu, shiso leaves, sesame seeds (optional)


Directions

  1. Cut cabbage (and cucumber) in thin strip

  2. Sprinkle some salt and leave for a while, or oak cabbage (and cucumber) in salted water (500cc water, 1 tbsp salt) for 10 min

  3. Drain and squeeze

  4. Mix with takuan (cut in thin strip) , shio kombu/and sesame (optional)


Note

  • A recipe from Ms. S

  • Takuan will add mild flavor to the vegetables

  • * Takuan is a pickled daikon radish
