Takikomi Gohan
Mixed rice
Put all the ingredients into the rice cooker and cook with usual amount of water. If you use sweet rice (mochi rice) 50 - 100% of the entire rice, it will be stickier rice called "okowa". Seasoning suggestions; dashi, soy sauce, mentsuyu, mirin, and sake. Some of the typical combinations of the ingredients are;
① Canned tuna, salted kelp, sliced dried shiitake mushrooms, pine nuts (Canned tuna and salted kelp make a good dashi, so no seasoning is needed.) ② Dried hijiki seaweed, carrot, ginger, and a few drops of sesame oil ③ Shredded ginger, sesame ginger rice ④ Bamboo shoots, age, ginger
