Persimmon Shira-ae

Persimmon with mashed tofu


Mixed with Yogoshi Miso (with black sesame) ↓

Yogoshi Miso - Local food from Toyama prefecture, Miso with black sesame



With spinach


Ingredients:

  • Persimmon 3-4

  • Tofu 1/2 (firm is better)

  • Crushed sesame (surigoma) 1-2 tbsp (or adjust to your taste)

  • Sugar 1-2 tsp (or adjust to your taste, Mirin can be used )

  • Soy sauce 1 tsp adjust to your taste

  • Miso 1 tsp or adjust to your taste

  • Roasted walnuts (or pecan nuts, optional)

Directions;

  1. Cut persimmon into bite size

  2. Drain and lightly dry tofu with a paper towel, mash, and mix with sesame, sugar, soy sauce, miso...

  3. Mix persimmon and tofu mixture

  4. Add crushed walnuts

  5. Serve cold

Note:

  • Shira-ae is a type of side dish using mashed tofu

  • Add a desirable amount of sesame, sugar, soy sauce, miso..
