Pea Rice
With fresh peas of spring
Ingredients
Green Peas
Rice 2 cups
Kombu 1 sheet or kombucha powder (optional)
Salt
Sake
Directions
Take out the peas from the shells and rinse
Boil water, add some salt, add peas
Simmer for 3 minutes and let it cool down as is in a pot (to prevent wrinkling)
In a rice cooker, add a sheet of kombu (or some kombucha powder) on top of rice*
Add salt and sake, and cook as usual
When the rice is done, put some peas on top of rice in the rice cooker and leave it for a while, then mix with rice
Note
*You can use the water soaked the peas for cooking rice in a rice cooker for better flavor
Remaining of the peas could be saved in the refrigerator with soaked water, or just freeze the peas without water
