Kinpira Gobo

braised burdock



Ingredients

  • Gobo (burdock) root

  • Carrot

  • Oil (sesame oil or any other oil)

  • Mentsuyu or Dashi/Mirin/Soy Sauce/Sake

  • Sesame (optional)


Directions

  1. Peel the skin of gobo and soak in water to avoid coloring

  2. Cut gobo and carrot into thin sticks

  3. Sautee in oil

  4. Flavor with Mentsuyu or Dashi/Mirin/Soy Sauce/Sake

  5. Sprinkle sesame

Note

  • Carrot can be prepared in the same way

  • Dry Gogo is convenient
