Shimpaku Tree (Sabina chinesis, Chinese Junuiper, Needled Evergreen tree) was planted at the gate of Hosenji temple in about 1400. The temple does not exist any longer but this tree still remains. It is one tree divided into three from the root, and over 9.8 meters around the bottom of the trunk.
