#169 Tengushide Grove of Oasa

It is a kind of hornbeam that grows naturally Oasa, Kitahiroshima-cho. Recent research has revealed that this unique morphology of Tenguside is a change caused by mutation and that it is inherited. There are more than 100 trees of various sizes growing in colonies of this rare agaricus, but in Japan, there are few places where trees created by mutation grow in colonies for generations, making it a very valuable region. It was designated as a national natural monument in 2000. More than 100 trees, the largest tree trunk circumference approx. 4.5m, tree height approx. 12m
