Yamaguchi Shi, Yamaguchi Ken
A no-man JR station, about 30 minutes from JR Shin Yamaguchi station on a local line connecting to Masuda city, Shimane prefecture. A building made of wood (renovated in 2001) and used as a community room. 100 years old tree (Kaizuka ibuki = Chinese juniper) planted at the opening of this station. The sign says, "You will live long if you touch this tree." During the SL Yamaguchi season, you can watch the steam engine pass very closely and this is a popular spot for photographers.
