(Ausugt, 2022) Observatory and a crater
There is an observatory at the top of Mt. Kasayama with spectacular views out across the monogenetic volcano group of low-lying islands in the Sea of Japan.
Kasayama is a small volcano with an altitude of 112m, located in the center of the Kita-Nagato Kaigan National Park, with a small crater of 30m in diameter and 30m in depth at the summit. It erupted about 10,000 years ago, and is composed of an andesite lava plateau and a hill formed by magma droplets that erupted high into the air. Parking near the observatory.
