Shunan Shi, Yamaguchi Ken
Located at the summit of Nagano Yama at 1050 meters altitude, the highest point of Shunan city. Not a typical cafe but rather a healthy homemade dining with local ingredients. Nagano Yama Teishoku（長野山定食）is a popular menu, including homemade konnyaku root. Found a nostalgic Kashiwa mochi at the shop. Two elder ladies commute daily from the vicinity town to cook and run this place (as of 2021). Cottage rental is available during the season. Next time, I will combine the hiking around Nagano yama (although there was a sign of "Watch out for the bears") ! Sasa yuri (Japanese Lily) in early summer.
