Deity of Kido Shrine is Koin Kido (Kogoro Katsura) who contributed to Meiji Restoration. Upon his death, Koin wished his family's house, fields and forests to be donated to the local community and used for the education expense of the students. This shrine was built as a token of appreciation for him by the local people. Kido park next to this shrine. Up the slope behind the shrine, leads to Takamine Castle ruin. On the way, there is an observatory looking over the city.
