Suo Oshima, Yamaguchi Ken
The whole mountain is covered with forests. There is an observatory at the summit. The 360 degree view of the inland sea is beautiful. You can drive to the summit or follow the hiking trail. Altitude 374.3m
Remnants of the former Japanese army remain on the summit. Shirakiyama Air Defense Battery is one of the early air defense batteries built before the war. There are small traces of three turrets, concrete foundations for searchlights, and a water tank. (A-F)
