Shredded Kozo plant is used to make washi
Above slides are made by my daughter. (August, 2022)
A facility to preserve traditional handmade washi paper making. You have the opportunity to try washi making by appointment, followed by a thorough facility tour. The kozo plants are planted next to the facility. They also sell washi papers and washi products made here, and they are excellent quality. We were lucky to meet Ms. Noriko Oishi, a washi Koinobori handpaint master and instructor who has been playing the main role to keep Otake washi tradition alive.
